COVID-19’s Impact on Fuel Delivery

Department of Homeland Security Further Defines Critical Infrastructure Workers

Federal officials with the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have updated their Advisory Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During Covid-19 Response. Read the document here.

This is a guidance document only but CISA has clearly defined “heating fuels” workers; HVAC technicians, plumbers and electricians; and workers servicing, repairing and installing “boilers, furnaces and other heating, cooling, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.”

FMCSA Hours of Service Waiver

The Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has been waiving certain Hours of Service (HOS) regulations in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

While the waiver does not include fuel delivery at this time, the FMCSA stands ready to help with fuel delivery waivers as needed.

Please email me if you are experiencing a delivery driver shortage due to Coronavirus. Representation will express the need for a fuel delivery waiver of HOS restrictions.
